About Franchesca

Applicants must meet the following requirements: Setting: Rural, Suburban Dwelling: Single Family Fence: Physical or underground fence required. Training Addendum Mar 10, 2026: Franchesca is a lovebug, that finds no greater joy in life than a good snuggle. As a cuddling enthusiast, she does need to work on her boundaries, as well as her counter surfing. She is house trained, crate trained, and sleeps well through the night. Franchesca does well with other dogs and people of any size. She has a big heart she is happy to share with anybody that wants to scratch her belly. She is an adorable pet with a loving spirit who brings joy into every room she goes. A dog so full of love that your home will be too on her first night. Mar 8, 2026 – Franchesca recently landed in her foster home and sat on her color (yellow) on the circle of dogs rug. She has been running her energy off in the yard. So far, she has shown herself to be a smart and curious gal. More to come as she decompresses and her fosters get to know her better. Watch Francesca run in the backyard: https://youtu.be/rWmWVT5S39M Feb 28, 2026: Franchesca is a cute pup, She is 6 but don't let her age fool you as she has lots of energy and will let you pet her all day long to get attention. She likes to retrieve and brings balls and toys back so you can throw it again. She is a smaller pup who needs to gain a few pounds, ideal weight is about 50 lbs. On the trip to the Pet Lodge, she jumped right in and rode like a champ. She came in as a stray with Daphne, but they don't appear to be bonded. Franchesca would like a home with a family that has a fenced yard and will give her the training exercise and love she deserves. Kids 10 and up as we have no history of her living with any. Came in with Daphne and has been out with other dogs at the Pet Lodge, she had a ball playing with them. Have no cat history. Knows sit and come working on other commands. She needs some additional Training. She may be house trained and is keeping her room clean at the Pet Lodge. Pulls on lead and could benefit from a with an Easy Walk Harness. Watch her play at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt9EoO7FZZc . Franchesca & Daphne were strays to Suffolk Animal Control no one came to get them and we were asked to get them new homes. Franchesca is a 6 year old spayed yellow female. Up to date on vaccines. Heartworm positive (Non- symptomatic). See below notes about her treatment. Spayed on 18 Feb. Removed Mammary gland mass during spay. Biopsy showed it as a Grade 1 mammary mass that should be monitor on future routine exams. Had bilateral ear infection, treated with BNT. Do not clean her ears until after 4 March. Recheck when she gets her vaccine boosters.
