About Georgia
Applicants must meet the following requirements: Setting: Rural, suburban Dwelling: Single family Fence: Physical Fence Required Training Addendum Energy level: Moderate Georgia is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single-family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update. Mar 13, 2026: Watch out if Georgia lays her ears back and squints at you because you are about to become a human lollipop. This girl is a lick monster! Georgia came to visit (READ: wear out) foster Bertie a few days ago and the two get along famously. They wrestle, play tug, chase each other, then lay beside one another when they crash. For now, we are requiring that she goes to a family with another dog to develop and maintain her confidence. She does require a physical fence given her proclivity to zoom. Georgia is pretty easy on leash- unskilled but doesn’t pull, weave or balk. She was well behaved during her freedom ride tethered, once she got in. The cats keep hiding so Georgia hasn’t been cat tested and she has no history living with kids. She is housebroken and crate trained. Like any youngster, she will have a training addendum and will need structure and plenty of exercise, lest she bark, dig, chew or get into things that aren’t her business. March 1,2026 Georgia is making so many friends and loves other dogs. She has really blossomed while in daycare and can’t wait to bring her happy personality to a new family and continue to grow and learn so she can be the best girl. Feb 20, 2026 Georgia is having a wonderful time in boarding and daycare. She has really shown her true personality when she gets to go out to play with other pups. She shows she can be confident when she’s out with them. Given this we feel she needs to go to a home with another dog so she can continue to grow her confidence and experience all the happiness she deserves. Feb 13, 2026: Georgia is getting so much more relaxed at daycare. She is ready to start in playgroups in a few days and can't wait to make new friends. This sweet girl is ready to blossom in a home of her own and can't wait to meet her new family. She is still learning but is ready to blossom into the wonderful pup we know she is. Feb 6, 2026: Sweet Georgia is an adorable labby girl looking for her forever home. Georgia can be a little shy when she initially encounters something new but will quickly realize all new adventures might not be so scary. And somethings might even be fun. She loves attention from humans and did well meeting another pup at the shelter. Leash walking seems new to her, but so far she's getting the hang of it. She did fine in the crate for her transport. More on Ms. Georgia as we learn more about her. Approved for kids 10 and up as we have no history of her ever living with young children. She is unknown with cats and good with other dogs. Georgia - 10m old, spayed, yellow female. She weighs 48 lbs and is still growing. Spayed on 2/2 she will need to take it easy until 2/16. Up to date on vaccines. 4DX - Lyme positive - a non-contagious tickborne disease. She is being treated with Doxycycline for a month. READ MEDICAL TAB Georgia needs another Heartworm test in six months (August 2026) as we don't have proof he/she has been on heartworm preventatives prior to coming to Lab Rescue. Stray to the shelter
