About Kate
**Fostered in Charlottesville, VA - Cyndi is the contact - Send application first* Applicants must meet the following requirements: Setting: Rural, suburban Dwelling: Single family Fence: Physical Fence Required Training Addendum Energy level: Moderate Kate is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single-family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update. Mar 18, 2026: Kate is such a dream girl. She is sweet, calm, playful and lovable. What more could anyone ask. She is crate trained and house trained, easy on leash and gentle in her playstyle. Now she just needs a home of her own. See Kate playing with the resident Lab https://youtu.be/9GBNyQYZDVI Mar 6, 2026: Kate has made her way to her foster home and is settling in nicely. She is crate trained and has good house manners. She’s enjoying foster Mom and the resident Labs, especially the young female Lab who she has become fast friends with. She likes having an older K9 sister to follow around. Such a good girl. Feb 28, 2026: Kate is feeling great and loving her playtime. This sweet girl is having a great time in small play groups and enjoying making some new K9 friends. What a silly and lovable girl she is. Feb 19, 2026: Kate is showing more and more of her sweet and lovable nature. She experienced her first snowfall while in boarding and she loved it. She couldn't wait to go out and do her zoomies and roll in the fresh snow. Kate is getting much more comfortable on leash and was great for her transporters and the staff at the vets office. She did well with the other Lab Rescue dog she met a few times - though she prefers dogs that are not so 'in your face' when playing. Feb 5, 2026: Kate is a sweet, lovable Lab who was believed to have been a breeder dog. She was found on a rural property with Spencer and Tracey, 2 other Labs, that she seemed to know quite well. She's working on adjusting to a new life and finding things like leashes, thresholds and tile floors to be on her list of things he needs to get to know. She does wait to go outside to do his business and has not had any accidents. She is taking it all in stride and adjusting well. Approved for kids 10 and up as we have no history of him ever living with young children. He is unknown with cats and good with other dogs. Kate- 1 yr old, spayed, Chocolate female.
