Mar 11, 2026: Duke is a very handsome, dark chocolate lab, with very cute patches of white fur on his chest and paws. He is sweet boy who, although he has happily settled into his foster home, would love to find a new, forever, home. Duke has good manners in the house and won't bother a thing. He loves his people, and would do better where someone is home more often than not. Duke is a gentle pup and knows his commands: sit, stay, come, no and, of course, “let’s go for a walk!” He is inquisitive, sweet, intelligent and really enjoys his walks and sniffing all the news that’s fit to sniff! He loves spending time with his humans. He's a sweet, good boy who will make some family very happy. For a 10 year old pup he has lots of energy, but also enjoys just chilling with his family. Mar 2, 2026: Duke is learning new things each day: He has conquered the steps in his foster home! He is a pup who will need a quieter neighborhood; he'd love a home in the country without all the sounds of a busy street. While he's been co-exisiting well enough with the resident dogs in his current foster home, he seems to prefer to share his home with just his humans. He is most interested in them, and would make a wonderful work from home buddy. He enjoys his humans home more than not. He's affectionate and sweet, and can't believe he's still waiting on his family. He has good manners in the house and won't bother a thing, just needs a little more fine tuning to be fully housetrained; someone home more than not will be very helpful to make sure he gets out regularly. He knows “sit” so far. Duke takes treats gently, and is getting along just fine with the resident dogs. He does well on leash, and pretty much ignores other people, dogs, birds, and cars. While he hasn't barked very much, he does howl sometimes! Such a character. He enjoys snuggling on the sofa, and needs a home with limited steps. He's a sweet, good boy who will make some family very happy. Feb 11, 2026: Duke came to us when one owner passed and the other did not feel they could care for him as he needed to be cared for. He is a very sweet boy. He likes other dogs. He is keeping his run clean at the kennel and the staff say he is great. He is good on leash. He does have some age related arthritis and is on joint supplements and some meds for that. More on Duke soon! Duke is a 10 year old black male. He weighs 93 lbs. Duke needs another heartworm test in August, 2026 as we don't have proof of him being on preventatives before he arrived to Lab Rescue. OGU to partner rescue
