About Sirius

FEB 19, 2026: Hold; settling in with foster. Applicants must meet the following requirements: Setting: Rural, suburban Dwelling: Single family Fence: Physical Fence Required Training Addendum Energy level: Moderate to High Sirius is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single-family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update. Feb 10, 2026: Sirius is having a great time in daycare. He is a total goofball and continues to be the derpy boy. What he would really love is a family of his own where he can run and play and have a human or 2 (or more) to love on and will throw the ball and toys for him. He is keeping his run clean at boarding and is looking forward to someone that will spend the time with him to work on his training. This smart boy will soak it up like a sponge. Jan 11, 2026: Sirius is a gorgeous, silly, and sweet goofball if there ever was one. He is a typical young lab full of fun, love and curiosity. He was great entertainment at the shelter and appropriately nicknamed 'the derp'. He does pull on leash so an EZ walk harness would be a great tool to use with him while he is learning. He is very smart and will take well to training. He does have a metal rod in his left rear leg (believed to be from an injury sustained as a puppy or very young dog.); and though it does not seem to both him, over exercising and excessive jumping should be avoided. He rides great in the car and is more then happy to be your cruising buddy. More on this handsome guy once he's in a foster home. Approved for kids 10 and up as we have no history of him ever living with young children. He is unknown with cats and good with other dogs. Sirius - 1 yr old, intact, black male. He weighs 65 lbs and needs to gain another 5-8lbs. Neutered on 1/14 he will need to take it easy until 1/28. He is up to date to date on vaccines and will need boosters for Lyme and CIV 2/3-2/10. 4DX heartworm positive READ MEDICAL TAB Note: Heartworm is highly treatable and treatment will be provided, at no cost to the adopter, at one of Lab Rescue's designated vets. Completing Heartworm treatment at the veterinarian designated by the Rescue is a requirement of adoption. To meet __Sirius____ 1. If the applicant is still interested in the dog, AC will confirm that the dog is still available and a good fit for the family. 3.
