About JIGGY

**Jiggy and her new family are entitled to a complimentary 7-week Good Manners Class at Peaceable Paws, LLC in Fairplay, MD for being part of the basic manners program! Applicants must meet the following requirements: Setting: Rural, suburban Dwelling: Single family Fence: Physical fence required Jan 11, 2026 – Jiggy and her FM continue to make great progress as FM learns more about her every day. She’s successfully learned the household routines including meal and play times. Jiggy was initially wary of the midday dog walker but she eventually grew comfortable with the routine. After a two week hiatus to this particular routine, she did need to be reintroduced and have an environment adjustment to ease back into the routine which she is now comfortable with again. Jiggy continues to become more comfortable with physical touch. She happily curls up with FM, enjoys being brushed and loves belly rubs. Jiggy is a wonderful dog who will thrive with an experienced, dog-savvy owner. Dec 19, 2025: Jiggy spent over a year in the shelter before coming to Lab Rescue, and it is clear that the experience had a big impact on her. When she first arrived, she was in a high-alert state and uncomfortable with being touched around her face, ears and paws. She clearly communicated her boundaries.  Since Thanksgiving, with time, patience, and consistency, her true personality has finally come through. The Jiggy of today is silly, playful, and energetic - she absolutely loves to zoom around the yard. She's big on neighborhood watch and is convinced she can run as fast as the cars that come down the street.  She even barks to let them know she sees them. Before coming to her foster Jiggy got the chance to go to a training camp and learned sit, stay, down and overall good manners.  Her future adopter will receive a free seven-week training program in MD.  She would benefit from that and more practice with her leash walking skills. Jiggy gets along well with the three resident dogs and has full access to the house when FM is out.  While she can live with other dogs, she does not appear to need a dog friend. One of the biggest changes overall has been in her relationship with people. Jiggy now sees people as treat givers, speakers of nice words, ball launchers, and realizes that hands are for petting and love.  Jiggy will jump up on the recliner with FM to watch some tv and up on the bed to say good morning.  She allows and now enjoys being pet, and trusts that FM is still listening closely to her signals. If asked, Jiggy might say, "My foster mom loves me so much because I try really hard, I love big, and I'm my happiest self when I feel safe and heard." Dec 4, 2025: Watch Jiggy in her own music video - https://youtube.com/shorts/cv-Y5kFUEcY Dec 2, 2025: Jiggy has continued to do well in foster while living with multiple other dogs. She has stolen the heart of her current foster with her playfulness and personality. She does understand a few basic commands, and shows a willingness to learn more, but will need continued help on a leash. Jiggy plays appropriately with other dogs and can live in a multi-dog home, but she does not require a canine companion. Jiggy will thrive in an active home with adopters who have prior dog experience and feel comfortable managing a confident, vocal player. A yard where she can run would be highly beneficial. With the right guidance and understanding, Jiggy will be a devoted, fun, and affectionate companion. NOTE: Jiggy doesn't like to have her paws wiped, so please don't try to wipe them. Nov 19, 2025: Jiggy is doing really well!  She's been just fine with my dogs.  My dogs are slow to warm up to a new foster and sometimes are a bit aloof, but Jiggy has been very playful. She doesn't like her head being petted and she hasn't been open to going in the crate, despite treats, so when I leave, I just separate her in a bedroom. She loves to play her version of fetch, which entails running after the ball but not dropping it. She's gentle when you take it from her. She's done well with the training she just completed. She also absolutely loves walks! Nov 5, 2025: Jiggy spent over a year in the shelter. Thankfully she's now with Lab Rescue and we are going to make sure this sweet lady gets the home she deserves. She is housetrained, and enjoys the company of other dogs. She's playful, but at 6 years old, she's not over the top. She is a sweetheart, but she is hesitant at first of jumping into the car. She needs to be crated for the ride, or she'll try to help you drive. Jiggy was very scared when she first arrived to the shelter. The staff worked tirelessly with her, and she is now a sweet girl. Sometimes she's still head shy, so go slowly when meeting her, or putting on her harness. Jiggy is good with dogs, unknown with cats, and approved for children 10 and up. Jiggy is a 6-year-old yellow spayed female. She is current on vaccines. She weighs 53 pounds. READ MEDICAL TAB. Jiggy needs a heartworm test end of April, 2026 as we don't have proof that she was on preventatives prior to coming to Lab Rescue.
