About Tuck

Applicants must meet the following requirements: Setting: Rural, suburban Dwelling: Single family, Townhome on a case by case basis Fence: Physical Fence Required Energy level: Moderate Only dog in the home THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125. Mar 11, 2026: Tuck is smart, sweet, and quite fit. He loves going on walks, driving in the car, meeting new people, and spending time with his people. Tuck knows some commands, listens well, communicates very well, and is easy to handle. He has the run of the house and can be left alone without any problems. Tuck is reported to be crate trained but dislikes the crate likely because he was crated for long times in his prior life. Tuck loves all people, especially children. He lived with another smaller dog before and is good with most dogs unless they are jumpy and pushy. He is not a fan of cats. Tuck loves food. His ideal family would be people who are ready to engage with him and with someone at home most of the time. A fenced yard would be important so he can sniff around on his own for a while.  Mar 4, 2026: Tuck continues to ace every test that comes his way while in foster care! He recently experienced the joys of a home remodel; and managed it better than most humans. He warmly greeted the folks that came and went. He stayed close to his person when he was unsure what to do. And he even managed to ignore the noise and nap when the time came. While he's not very fond of the crate, he has a proven ability to integrated himself into your lifestyle. He used to live with another dog, but is also enjoying the peace and quiet of solo dogging in old age. He loves to sniff, he loves to watch his person, and he loves children. He is an effective communicator, which does mean he'll communicate his needs back to you as well. Overall, he's easy to handle and hopeful to find a home where he can become part of the family, whatever that looks like. Feb 15, 2026: Tuck is easy-going and sweet with his fosters. He is smart, sensitive, wants to please and thrives on a routine. He has run of his fosters’ home and has done well when he’s been left alone for a few hours. Tuck continues to enjoy his walks, sniffing around the yard and playing with his fosters for exercise. He does love his 3 mile daily walks, followed by time in the yard. In the afternoon he wants to engage with his people, whether in a form of exercise, cuddling, or following them as they complete household chores. He is very food motivated and focused, like so many labs. Tuck enjoys other dogs of a similar size the most, but doesn't appreciate when any dogs jump at him. He enjoys being social but also appreciates a calmer home with his people home more often than not. He will do best in a home with no cats or small critters. Feb 3, 2026: Tuck continues to show off his maturity as a house guest in his foster home. He's an easy-going 10 year-old that is house trained, crate trained, and still relatively fit for an older dog. He is highly food motivated, but also understands the difference between food and socks, which is nice. He communicates his needs well in terms of potty breaks or exercise needs. He is smart and sensitive with a veteran labs desire to please. He loves walks and is relatively easy to control with his pocket lab size. He meets other dogs pretty well; and other people very well. He has the versatility to live with other dogs, or enjoy the pampering available in the solo dog life. Despite his advanced age, Tuck still has the energy to walk several miles, destuff toys, and play fetch. He is aging gracefully and would do best in a home where he would still have opportunities to spend energy in play. He is a good guest with a great soul looking for new home to call his own. January 25, 2026: Tuck is a charmer who is looking for someone to spend time with and do all of the fun things! He loves to cuddle up with his people and spend time with them. He still likes to be active and enjoys going for walks and playing in a fenced yard. He went to daycare and did very well. He got along with all of the dogs, and the staff said he was very charming:) Tuck is food motivated and enjoys his meals. He will sometimes bark at you with excitement when you are preparing his meal. He enjoys attention and prefers to have someone home more than not. Tuck is a sweet boy that would love for you to come meet him! Nov 14, 2025: Tuck is a sweet little guy that was given up by his owners after they could no longer care for him. He is a small senior boy, and is of moderate energy but still has a spring in his step and enjoys and needs his walks, playtime and sniffing around the yard as well snoozing and cuddling up to his people. He is smart and sweet and enjoys engaging with all people. He is house and crate trained (though he doesn't need the crate, nor is he particularly fond of it.) He walks well on leash, especially with an easy-walk harness, knows a few commands, such as sit, wait, and leave it, and is very food driven. His desire for food can make him pushy and needs and can be managed. He takes treats gently, but if you drop something, he will try to snap it up. He is working with foster mom to learn that not all food is for him. While he has lived with another dog before, his food drive makes him better suited to a home where he won't have to compete for food. He is perfectly happy being the only dog in the house, having all the human attention to himself makes him quite happy. Tuck prefers friendly female dogs about his own size; most others he ignores. However he doesn't like cats and should not go to home with cats or other small animals. Tuck is looking for a quiet home with someone home more at home than not, and a fenced yard to run and play in. Nov 4, 2025: Tuck knows some of his commands - come, no, down, leave it. He is house trained and crate trained and loves his walks. Tuck walks best with an EZ walk harness. Approved for kids 10 and up, good with other dogs. Wants to chase cats. Tuck is a 10-year-old black neutered male. He weighs 40.6 which is a good weight for him. He is current with vaccines. READ MEDICAL TAB Owner surrender to Lab Rescue
