About JACEY

JACEY HAS AN ORAL MELANOMA THAT IS INOPERABLE. READ ALL MEDICAL INFORMATION AND TALK TO SILVIA BEFORE REFERRING. Applicants must meet the following requirements: Setting: Rural, suburban Dwelling: Single family, no townhomes. Fence: Physical fence required Energy level: Moderate Must got to a home with another dog Feb 27, 2026: Jacey has really started to come out of her shell. She’s still a bit timid, but she’s such a happy girl. When the mood strikes, she’ll join the other dogs for playtime, and when she’s done, she’s perfectly content relaxing in her crate or curled up in her bed. She travels beautifully in the car and is truly such an easy, delightful dog to have around. Dec 30, 2025: Jacey is a sweet, gentle girl. She joined the pack in greeting and accepting treats from a volunteer visiting her foster home. She would not come close when the person was standing, but as soon as she sat on the couch or the floor, Jacey was happy to approach (for treats:) and for ear rubs. Foster Mom gave her a pedicure during the visit, with both clips and a grinder, and Jacey calmly lay on her side while the volunteer massaged her ears and back. Although she may never be a cuddler and will startle if you move too quickly in the house or yard, Jacey is a happy companion that just wants love and gentle pets from her patient people. Jacey never stops wagging her tail: https://youtube.com/shorts/3q2MBgGmueE Dec 7, 2025: Jacey is a sweetheart, and someone forgot to tell this girl that she is a hospice case. Her zest for life is contagious! One of our volunteers visited her at her foster's home. Jacey played happily with the resident Labs in the fenced yard, keeping up with the one-year-old in a game of fetch - even winning a couple of the pursuits! She is very comfortable around other dogs and plays with them nicely. Her tail wags constantly, even when she is thinking about new things. She is quietly concerned about new people in her environment, but she was sticking her head into the mix after about 5 minutes of watching the other dogs get treats. Once we moved inside, she stayed on the outskirts of the room for about 10 minutes, and again worked her way close to take some treats, oh, so gently. Soon she decided that all was well and she stuck around after a treat to get an ear and chin rub. Jacey is a gorgeous girl with deep fox red fur, and her initial photos do not do her justice. She would do well in a quieter home without tons of visitors, or with a crate to escape to until she gets comfortable with visitors. Jacey loves attention from foster mom and dad and would love to have a forever home with at least one other dog to maximize her enjoyment of life. Jacey & her buddy Toby hald a tail wagging contest: https://youtube.com/shorts/yrx_n2QQ-aM Jacey wins the ball: https://youtube.com/shorts/IYQWbTYYepg Dec 3, 2025: Jacey enjoys a good wrestle in the house and would love a buddy she can play and wrestle with. You can't tell this girl that she is 9 years old and that she has a malignant oral tumor, but she sure has a lot of high spirit and solid energy. Jacey loves wrestling: https://youtu.be/Bn9Azkquakg Nov 20, 2025: Jacey has made tremendous progress in her foster home, but she can still be timid and unsure at times. However, her tail has not stopped wagging yet. She is a gentle kind soul who wants so much to be loved; she's continuing to work on being brave in order get the attention she seems to crave. Foster mom reports she is happy girl despite her past and loves to stand quietly and be petted. Her favorite thing however, is playing with her best friend, the resident dog! They love to wrestle and run about in the yard. Jacey is so excited to see her friend every morning. She will need a home with another dog who is just as playful and confident as her newest friend. Jacey sleeps on a dog bed at night, and is both house-trained and crate-trained. In fact she loves her crate, since she realized it means treats... She will just run right in and wait! Jacey needs a quiet home in a more rural area for her to be her most relaxed self. Foster tells us that as long as her new family can be patient with this sweet gal, and has a canine buddy for her to romp with, she will be a sweet and easy addition to their lives. Jacey is considered hospice due to the malignant growth in her mouth, but she doesn't know she's sick. Sep 22, 2025: Gentle Jacey is looking for a friend (or more!). This precious former farm mama is a little shy, but warms up quickly. She was a good, loving mother to her three litters, the last of which was a little over a year and a half ago. Now though, Jacey is looking forward to being the love of someone's life herself! She was born and raised on a farm, so some things like stairs, leash walking, car rides, etc. might be new for her. We think she'll learn quickly though with a little love and patience from her new family. Jacey is on the smaller side for a Lab, so if you're looking for a pocket-size Lab, she'll be a great fit! She is good with other dogs, but unknown with cats. Jacey is approved for children ages 10 and up. If you'd like to give a good girl all the love, come meet Jacey today! Jacey is a 9-year-old yellow spayed female. She weighs 58.2 but she could stand to lose a couple of pounds. She is current on vaccines. READ MEDICAL TAB Jacey needs another Heartworm test in six months (March 2026) as we don't have proof she has been on heartworm preventatives. Jacey was surrendered to the rescue.
