Their foster calls them Bubba and Cici. They are excellent house guests in their foster home, making great strides and learning new things. They are super chill and low maintenance for such young pups! Their foster hosts a doggie daycare and LJ and Markie play great with ALL dogs. They greet the humans at the gate, but they especially love playing with their four-legged friends whenever they can! They also have been wonderful ambassadors to the numerous other foster pups who have come and gone from their foster home. The siblings are incredibly affectionate and friendly with their foster family, including their human foster brother and his numerous friends who visit the home frequently, but they are still a little shy. It will take more than a single visit before they warm up to potential adopters. They are most comfortable with humans who are willing to give them space to approach them in their own time. LJ is the more confident of the pair; he engages with new people and particularly adores males. Markie will meet new people with curiosity and accept treats and occasionally even a few pets before retreating. She looks to her brother for confidence and is a love once she trusts you! Adopters should understand that Markie might not engage when they first meet; she will need to trust them in her own time. Both dogs were downright affectionate with a volunteer making her 3rd visit to meet the dogs. Markie even gave sweet kisses and navigated her way through a pack of dogs to stay close to the volunteer (and her treats). Markie and LJ walk nicely on leash, and LJ allowed a visitor to take him for a stroll. They are both relaxed and snuggly with their resident humans, and enjoy being couch potatoes after playtime. The siblings can often be found curled up together in a big pretzel. Markie loves toys and likes to surround herself with the contents of her toybox removed one-by-one. Dapper little LJ enjoys chin scratches and likes to rock a cozy sweater in cool weather. Both dogs are very good in the crate, and are happy sharing a large crate together. They are a fabulous pair who will be loyal buddies for life. LJ and Markie are looking for an adoptive family with a quiet lifestyle and lots of love and patience to share with them, along with an understanding that the pups will take time to decompress and acclimate to their new home.
